Job summary

Evonik Corporation is seeking an Equipment Lead Engineer for the Tippecanoe project to coordinate, specify, and deliver process equipment valued at about $100 million. You will lead on-site engineering activities, align with Process Design, and oversee third-party firms to meet cost, schedule, and quality requirements.

The role requires 15+ years in equipment or project engineering for large capital projects, strong vendor management, and facility-wide coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering is required.
• 15+ years in equipment engineering or capital projects in chemical/industrial settings.
• Experience coordinating equipment scope with Process Engineering and other teams.
• Familiarity with FAT, vendor docs, constructability reviews, and field execution.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the onsite liaison between Process Design and Equipment Engineering.
• Translate PFDs/P&IDs into detailed equipment specs and interface responsibilities.
• Lead equipment engineering activities by third-party firms and consultants.
• Collaborate with Procurement on RFQs, bids, and vendor documentation.
• Oversee supplier quality through FAT participation and technical deviations.
• Coordinate equipment layouts, lifting plans, and tie-in activities with Construction.
• Maintain risk registers and escalate critical concerns to leadership.
• Provide technical leadership during construction, turnover, and reporting.
