Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Dispatch Manager to oversee drivers and equipment delivery across a market. You will ensure prompt receipt and delivery, coordinate with Sunbelt locations, and uphold DOT compliance while leading a team of dispatch professionals.

The role emphasizes safety, coaching, and efficient scheduling, with a focus on customer satisfaction and on-time performance in a fast-paced rental environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience plus 5+ years of dispatching experience.
• Excellent customer service, communication, organizational and leadership skills.
• Working knowledge of the delivery area and DOT Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Models and ensures all Sunbelt safety procedures are followed.
• Hire, train, mentor, and coach employees who coordinate and perform pick-up and delivery of equipment.
• Manages the team’s work, delegation, safety, and performance.
• Orchestrates timely and accurate dispatch of rental equipment and tools to customers and other Sunbelt locations.
• Transfers equipment and consumables across the defined market as needed.
• Creates and monitors drivers’ schedules.
• Ensures timely creation and closing of rental contracts in coordination with Dispatch Coordinators.
• Reviews daily and weekly driver logs per DOT standards.
• Ensures daily truck inspections by drivers per DOT standards.
• Ensures drivers operate safely and courteously per Sunbelt guidelines.
• Collaborates with store locations to meet customer equipment needs.
• Handles internal and external customer complaints professionally to resolve issues.
• Reports problems to supervisor and follows up for resolution.
• Provides feedback to Counter and Service Departments regarding delivery and receipt of equipment.
• Minimizes driver on-yard time in coordination with Dispatch Coordinators and branches.
