Job summary

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States seeks a Lead Epidemiologist to serve as the agency's epidemiology expert, responsible for developing policy, setting objectives, evaluating programs, and directing epidemiologic studies.

You will lead a team, advise on contracts and grants for services, resolve technical challenges, coordinate projects, and design and initiate surveys and investigations to advance public health goals.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the recognized expert in epidemiology for the agency with responsibility for developing policy and objectives, appraising programs, and initiating requirements for epidemiological studies.
• Provide advice and assistance for the development of contracts, grants, or cooperative agreements for professional, laboratory, or other services pertinent to the program, project, or study.
• Provide epidemiological advice and/or assistance in the resolution of technical problems and issues that include significant barriers to program or project delivery.
• Lead the team in identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow, skill level and/or occupational specialization.
• Serve as a project coordinator and recommend resources for epidemiologic projects.
• Design, plan, and initiate epidemiologic studies, surveys, and investigations.
