About the Opportunity

An established environmental consulting and engineering firm is seeking a Lead Environmental Technical Manager - LSRPto join its Environmental Due Diligence and Remediation team in Trenton, New Jersey.

This position will provide senior-level technical leadership, project management, client support, and mentorship across regional environmental projects. The ideal candidate will bring extensive environmental consulting experience, strong knowledge of New Jersey remediation requirements, and the ability to provide technical oversight while supporting project teams and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to regional environmental staff.
  • Provide technical oversight and quality control for environmental services and project deliverables.
  • Serve as a senior technical resource for complex environmental projects and remediation decisions.
  • Support employee training, technical development, job proficiency, and adherence to safety procedures.
  • Participate in development and improvement of technical procedures, templates, standards, and resources.
  • Perform senior-level consulting, project management, and client management responsibilities.
  • Provide technical input for proposals, RFPs, and project pursuits.
  • Conduct peer and senior-level technical reviews as needed.
  • Support business development, client acquisition, and client retention activities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Plan and execute projects while managing scope, schedules, budgets, and resources.
  • Identify and communicate project scope changes and potential technical or schedule issues.
  • Provide mentorship and technical support to project personnel.
  • Promote a collaborative, professional, and safety-focused work environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in an environmentally related field.
  • Active New Jersey Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) license required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, but not required.
  • 10+ years of professional experience with an environmental consulting or engineering firm.
  • Demonstrated project management and budgeting experience.
  • Experience developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Demonstrated success supporting business development and client retention.
  • Strong understanding of environmental consulting and site remediation practices.
  • Excellent technical writing, editing, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and appropriate vehicle insurance.
  • Willingness to travel to project and client locations as needed.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in both office and field environments.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required for field activities.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform work requiring close and distance vision.
  • Ability to meet company physical and safety requirements.
