Organization Overview

We are designing and constructing a state-of-the-art Parenteral, Device, and Packaging Assembly Facility in Concord, North Carolina. This role offers a unique opportunity to help build a new facility and quality system from the ground up. The Quality Control Laboratory ensures the safety and efficacy of products through rigorous testing.

Position Description

The QC Environmental Monitoring Lead will oversee and guide the QC Environmental Monitoring Technicians, coordinate environmental monitoring activities supporting Parenteral Operations, and perform routine environmental and utility sampling in manufacturing areas. The role includes training technicians and supporting non-routine activities.

Key Objectives/Deliverables

• Ensure compliance with cGMP procedures, Quality Systems, and documentation practices.
• Support Parenteral Operations by performing environmental monitoring.
• Support manufacturing and laboratory activities through utility sampling and analysis.
• Oversee day-to-day activities of QC Environmental Monitoring Technicians.
• Coordinate environmental monitoring activities.
• Train and mentor technicians.
• Provide shift support during non-routine events.
• Assist in writing SOPs and Work Instructions.
• Promote safety standards compliance.
• Perform environmental monitoring and utility sampling in manufacturing areas.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field preferred.
• 2-3+ years of relevant GMP pharmaceutical environmental monitoring experience, preferably in aseptic production.
• Experience with environmental monitoring techniques including surface, air, compressed air, and water sampling and analysis.
• Experience with Laboratory IT systems such as LIMs, LES, and MODA.

• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work in a lab environment with PPE and gowning requirements.

Other Information

• Role will transition from project support to routine support as the facility develops.
• Tasks may involve repetitive motion, standing, walking, lifting up to 30 pounds, and physical exertion.
• Training schedule varies; must be able to work a 12-hour night shift (2-2-3 schedule).
• Travel may be required during project phases for training and implementation.
