Job summary

The Indian Health Service, Sanitation Facilities Construction division, seeks a Civil/Environmental Engineer to provide planning, design, and construction oversight for water supply, wastewater, and solid waste projects serving American Indian homes. You will prepare project summaries, construction documents, and final reports, and develop cost estimates.

You may visit Tribal communities to oversee projects and supervise technical staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with ABET accreditation or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of civil/environmental engineering principles including planning, design, and project execution.
• Experience preparing engineering reports and cost estimates for water, wastewater, or solid waste projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional engineering planning, design, and construction oversight for water, wastewater, and solid waste facilities.
• Prepare project summaries, construction documents, and final reports; ensure accurate cost estimates.
• Visit Tribal communities where projects are planned or constructed; provide supervision to staff.
