Job summary

Intelance is seeking a freelance Lead Enterprise Architect to run a fixed-scope review for a large UK professional services firm, with potential to stay on as interim architect if follow-on work materializes. You will lead day-to-day activities, build an estate map, and present options to the COO from November 2026 to March 2027.

The role is mainly remote within the UK, with some days at client offices in England.

Qualifications

Experience as lead or head of enterprise architecture in a UK law firm or large professional services firm.
Set up architecture function, design authority or technology decision forum from scratch.
Strong knowledge of Dynamics 365 and Power Platform; knowledge of Aderant, InterAction or legal DMS is a plus.
Writes costed options papers and presents to COO/board.
Independent of software vendors.
Available Nov 2026 to Mar 2027, 3–4 days/week.
Based in the UK with right to work and background checks.

Responsibilities

Lead the review from first meeting to final presentation, as client’s day-to-day contact.
Run 8–10 one-hour conversations with heads of applications, IT operations, data, client solutions and the project office.
Build a complete picture of the technology estate with owners and data flows.
Write a priority risk report and three costed options for technology decisions.
Present findings to the COO with Intelance’s engagement partner.
If follow-on goes ahead, act as interim architect two days a week and set up a technology decision forum.
