Responsibilities

  • Lead development and maintenance of current, target, and transition architectures for customer information environment.
  • Translate mission, security, interoperability, data, and supportability requirements into integrated architecture products.
  • Guide MBSE model development, requirements traceability, design analysis, verification, and lifecycle collaboration.
  • Direct architecture reviews across networks, systems, applications, data, cybersecurity, cloud/container, and backup/recovery domains.
  • Identify technical debt, interoperability gaps, lifecycle risks, and modernization opportunities; provide prioritized recommendations.
  • Establish architecture principles, patterns, standards, interfaces, and documentation practices.
  • Ensure proposed solutions align with DoD/Army policies, RMF controls, configuration baselines, and operational constraints.

Ignite is currently seeking a driven Lead Enterprise Architect to join our team supporting the U.S. Army on Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. This position is expected to be onsite. The Lead Enterprise Architect will guide enterprise architecture, digital modernization, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), systems integration, and technical roadmap activities. The Lead Enterprise Architect will translate mission and business needs into secure, supportable architectures spanning infrastructure, networks, applications, data, cybersecurity, and digital engineering.

This role leads architects, engineers, and analysts from planning through delivery; advises senior stakeholders; resolves complex cross-domain issues; and ensures architecture products remain aligned with DoD and Army standards, interoperability needs, security requirements, budget, schedule, and mission outcomes.

This position is pending contract award.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Lead development and maintenance of current, target, and transition architectures for customer information environment.
  • Translate mission, security, interoperability, data, and supportability requirements into integrated architecture products.
  • Guide MBSE model development, requirements traceability, design analysis, verification, validation, and lifecycle collaboration.
  • Direct architecture reviews across networks, systems, applications, data, cybersecurity, cloud/container, and backup/recovery domains.
  • Identify technical debt, interoperability gaps, lifecycle risks, and modernization opportunities; provide prioritized recommendations.
  • Establish architecture principles, patterns, standards, interfaces, and documentation practices.
  • Ensure proposed solutions align with DoD/Army policies, RMF controls, configuration baselines, and operational constraints.
  • Lead architects, engineers, and analysts; review work products for technical quality and completeness.
  • Brief senior leaders and convert approved strategies into executable technical roadmaps and action plans.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Ten (10) or more years of relevant enterprise-architecture experience at the Senior/Lead level.
  • Experience directing enterprise architecture analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, development, and transition planning.
  • Experience leading architects, systems engineers, network engineers, business analysts, and other technical disciplines.
  • Demonstrated DoD enterprise architecture, business transformation, interoperability, and executive advisory experience.
  • Deep understanding of DoD business transformation, enterprise architecture, DoDAF, service-oriented architecture, enterprise transition planning, and mission/business alignment.
  • Ability to convert complex technical concepts into actionable roadmaps, decisions, and executive briefings.
  • Knowledge of secure enterprise infrastructure, networking, virtualization, container platforms, applications, data, RMF, and configuration management.
  • Ability to work on-site at Huntsville, Alabama and collaborate in classified and unclassified environments.
  • CompTIA Security+ is required.

Job Requirements

Preferred Qualifications
  • MBSE and digital engineering using tools such as MagicDraw, Teamwork Cloud, DOORS, Windchill, Syndeia, and related modeling environments.
  • Architecture of VMware, Red Hat OpenShift, Windows/Linux, network, storage, backup/recovery, and enterprise application environments.
  • Architecture governance, standards, design reviews, technical baselines, interface management, and change control.
  • Developing work plans, schedules, estimates, resource plans, status reports, and architecture documentation.
  • DoD 8140/DCWF-aligned qualification; CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP, GCSA, GICSP, or equivalent preferred.
  • Relevant architecture, systems-engineering, MBSE, cloud, or vendor certifications are preferred when aligned to assigned duties.
Security Clearance Requirements

Must have an active DoD Top Secret Clearance (SCI and SAP eligible)

Education Requirements:
  • MA/MS.
  • Permitted substitution: BA/BS with 12 or more years of relevant experience.
