Job summary

Lincoln Financial Group is seeking a senior technology architect to create and maintain enterprise architectural strategies and to design cloud-native solutions using AWS. Qualifications

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) (Minimum Required).
  • 5 – 7+ Years of experience in Technology Architecture that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position (Required).

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain strategies for various enterprise architectural capabilities (Integration, API, Digital Process Automation, etc.).
  • Architect cloud-native solutions using AWS services (S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, Athena, etc.) or similar tech to support risk analytics at scale.
  • Review designs for architectural soundness and adherence to enterprise standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Federated Architects, data scientists, risk managers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Mentor Federated Architects and influence technical standards and architecture decisions across application development teams.
  • Maintain current AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification.

The Role at a Glance

What you'll be doing
  • Translate business strategies into a technology investment roadmap
  • Collaborates with business and technology teams and serves as a subject matter expert to deliver and understand the complex technology roadmap.
  • Understands complex business unit needs and where business strategy is taking LFG from technology perspective and interpolates ways that systems can be used across enterprise.
  • Define and maintain complex target technology architectures for their assigned business unit
  • Responsible for having an advanced understanding of IT industry trends and enterprise standards and methodology in the Insurance or Financial Services space.
  • The role will be knowledgeable of the complex enterprise systems and applications, and can be called upon to provide subject matter expertise in multiple areas, i.e., Java-based Architectures, Data Analytics or Mobile applications
  • Influencing the technology solutions & technology investments that will deliver the business strategy
  • Provides direction and guidance to scope and architect major technology change projects, leading strategic options analysis, proposing end-to-end solutions, and highlighting trade-offs and risks
  • Review evolving designs of major technology projects to identify strategic opportunities and resolve design issues during delivery
  • Ensure IT projects align with strategic capabilities, target architectures & technology standards.
  • Oversee the management of the application portfolio management system.
  • Identify key technology enablers to optimize Lincoln’s IT investments including new and innovative uses of emerging enterprise technology platforms
  • Influence key IT vendors and partners.
  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
  • Directs and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives.
  • Identifies and directs the implementation of process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, department and/or business unit.
  • Provides subject matter expertise to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects.
  • Provides direction on complex assignments, projects, and/or initiatives to build and enhance the capability.

The pay range for this position is$135,375 - $216,600with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
