Job summary

Lincoln Financial is seeking an Application Development Analyst to help design and develop scalable software across our value stream. The role collaborates with senior architects and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet technical and enterprise standards.

You will participate in architecture design, documentation, and code/review processes, while championing optimization opportunities and new developments in cloud-based solutions. The position supports a hybrid work model with Lincoln offices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/IT/Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years in application development.
  • Experience with Python, Java, or NodeJS.
  • Experience with AWS cloud platform.
  • Understanding of software design patterns and microservices.
  • Experience with CloudFormation and AWS CDK.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with architects and development teams to design system architectures and data flows.
  • Assess how existing applications and interfaces can meet new enterprise initiatives.
  • Create technical specifications, architecture diagrams, and documentation.
  • Review code and infrastructure to align with standards.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business needs and technical requirements.
  • Develop proofs of concept and demonstrate to stakeholders.

The Role at a Glance

We are excited to bring on an Application Development Analyst within Lincoln's retail solutions organization. This position will consult/assist in the design and development of scalable, high-performance software solutions across our value stream aligning with business goals and Lincoln's vision. You will collaborate closely with senior architects, stake holders from various units to ensure solutions meet both technical and enterprise standards.

What you'll be doing
  • Collaborate with senior architects and development teams to design system architectures, API and data flows.
  • Determines how existing applications, systems, databases, interfaces and/or hardware can interact to meet new and emerging enterprise initiatives.
  • Identifies potential application solutions by understanding increasingly complex business/technical problems and opportunities.
  • Participate in the creation of technical specifications, architecture diagrams and documentation.
  • Documents increasingly complex programs and procedures.
  • Conduct code and infrastructure review to align with architectural standards.
  • Partners with internal stakeholders to ensure that systems are designed, developed and implemented from a business point of view.
  • Consults and/or participates in the requirements, design and coding walkthroughs to ensure the development of quality solutions.
  • Proactively identifies areas for optimization and present/develop solutions.
  • Develop proof of concept and demonstrate it to all the stakeholders.
  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
  • Champions and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives.
  • Identifies and recommends process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality.
What we’re looking for

Must Haves (Required):

  • 4 Year/Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Engineering
  • 3 – 5 Years experience in application development,
  • Experience with at least one of the following Python, Java, or NodeJS
  • Experience in cloud platforms specifically AWS.
  • Understanding of software design patterns, microservices architecture.
  • Experience in cloudFormation and AWS CDK

Nice to Haves (Preferred):

  • AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification
  • AWS Developer Associate certification

The pay range for this position is $69,000 - $124,600 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln's total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
