Position Brand Description:

Plant Engineering at Indianapolis Parenteral Manufacturing maintains GMP utilities, including steam, water, sewer, and other systems, ensuring compliance. It guarantees that facilities and infrastructure are operationally fit, maintenance techniques are effective, and corrective actions are taken when needed. The team manages local capital assets and oversees engineering/maintenance contracts.

The Sr. Specialist in Plant Engineering supports the reliable operation and qualification of equipment and processes. They ensure equipment remains in control, compliant, and capable of meeting customer needs, while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Objectives / Deliverables:
  1. Maintain a safe work environment, lead safety initiatives, and support all HSE goals.
  2. Support Utilities and GMP Utilities (WFI, Clean Steam, PCA, etc.).
  3. Understand mechanical equipment used in manufacturing (pumps, motors, etc.).
  4. Ensure safety by following rules and enhancing safety culture.
  5. Contribute to capital projects and support their delivery.
  6. Monitor system performance daily.
  7. Perform routine walkthroughs of support areas.
  8. Troubleshoot utility problems.
  9. Communicate with crafts/shops and customers.
  10. Schedule and coordinate work (PMs, corrective work).
  11. Serve as GMARS SME for specific areas.
  12. Respond on-site to alarms and issues.
  13. Create MAPs for work scheduling.
Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Implement and evaluate maintenance strategies.
  2. Lead or participate in small projects.
  3. Coordinate with external vendors.
  4. Manage shutdown work and schedules.
  5. Identify quality and reliability improvements.
  6. Participate in Plant Engineering Process Teams.
Minimum Requirements:
  1. Strong problem-solving skills.
  2. Knowledge of utilities (WFI, Steam, PCA).
  3. Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  4. Ability to communicate across organizational levels.
  5. Proficiency with SAP, GMARS, Excel, etc.
  6. Commitment to safety and supporting HSE goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Parenteral manufacturing experience.
  2. Plant engineering background.
  3. Experience with GMARS or similar CMMS.
Education:
  1. High School Diploma required.
  2. Associate Degree in Engineering or Technical Field preferred.
Additional Information:
  1. Third shift hours (10 PM - 6:30 AM, M-F) with support as needed.
  2. Minimal travel.
