L3Harris Technologies, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technician Lead for the Palm Bay, Florida environmental test laboratory. The role focuses on leading climatic and vibration testing, setting up instrumentation, and coordinating a team of technicians.

The Lead Engineer Technician will manage daily lab activities, ensure calibration, safety, and test integrity, and support engineering and maintenance teams with complex tasks. A strong aerospace background and leadership experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 8 years Aerospace experience required.
• Associate degree or 2 years post-secondary with 4 years related experience preferred.
• Experience with environmental test equipment (vibration shakers, thermal chambers, vacuum systems) required.
• Experience operating and troubleshooting environmental test equipment.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight for climatic and vibration testing in the lab by coordinating technician staffing and managing daily activities.
• Install instrumentation such as thermocouples and accelerometers on test articles.
• Program environmental test chamber control systems and monitor data acquisition systems.
• Monitor and control chamber and shaker performance to meet test requirements.
• Lead technician training and oversee the lab’s 5S program; act as lab custodian and ensure equipment calibration status.
• Coordinate transportation of fixtures and equipment to and from storage; perform monthly safety audits.
