Job summary

Saber Power Services, based in Houston, TX, seeks a Lead in Engineering Analytics to transform engineering, estimating, and project data into actionable business intelligence. You will develop trusted datasets, predictive models, dashboards, and performance metrics to improve estimating accuracy, productivity, and execution.

You will partner with Engineering, IT, Estimating, and leadership to drive governance, technology integration, and data-driven decision making across multiple platforms,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
  • Typically 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in engineering analytics, BI, data science, or project performance analysis within an engineering/industrial/EPC environment.
  • Experience preparing, analyzing, and interpreting large engineering or project datasets to support business decision-making.
  • Experience developing dashboards, predictive models, statistical analyses, and executive reporting.
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to communicate complex technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of Saber Power's engineering analytics strategy, including data governance, reporting standards, and analytical best practices.
  • Develop and maintain trusted datasets supporting estimating, engineering, project controls, scheduling, labor productivity, cost performance, and operational decision-making.
  • Analyze estimate-to-actual performance, productivity trends, labor utilization, project variances, rework, and other key engineering performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Design, develop, and maintain predictive models, statistical analyses, dashboards, and decision-support tools that enable data-driven business decisions.
  • Partner with Engineering Systems, IT, Estimating, Project Management, and business leaders to integrate data across multiple enterprise platforms and ensure consistent reporting.
  • Validate analytical methods, assumptions, and model performance while documenting methodologies and establishing governance standards.
  • Present analytical findings and recommendations to engineering leadership and executive management in a clear, actionable manner.
  • Support strategic planning initiatives by identifying trends, forecasting performance, and evaluating operational improvement opportunities.
  • Train users on analytical tools, dashboards, and data interpretation while promoting a data-driven culture throughout the engineering organization.
  • Evaluate emerging analytics technologies and recommend improvements that enhance engineering performance and business insight.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

The Lead, Engineering Analytics is responsible for developing and advancing Saber Power's engineering analytics capabilities by transforming engineering, estimating, and project data into actionable business intelligence. This role partners with Engineering, Estimating, Project Management, and executive leadership to develop trusted datasets, predictive models, dashboards, and performance metrics that improve estimating accuracy, engineering productivity, project execution, and strategic decision-making. The position serves as a key driver of data governance, analytical best practices, and continuous improvement across the engineering organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Experience developing dashboards, predictive models, statistical analyses, and executive reporting.
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to communicate complex technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with engineering cost, labor, quantity, productivity, scheduling, or project performance analytics.
  • Experience with Python, R, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytical platforms.
  • Familiarity with regression analysis, forecasting, machine learning, or predictive analytics.
  • Experience integrating data from ERP, engineering, project management, or document management systems.
