Who We Are:
Our section performs structural design, analysis, test, and repair for various aircraft and aerospace vehicles. The candidate will assist in maintaining the safety of flight for military and commercial derivative aircraft.
Objectives of this Role:
- Perform professional aerospace structural engineering work applying advanced theories, concepts, and principles to weapon systems, subsystems, and support equipment.
- Function as a structural specialist in design, analysis, and development engineering for critical structural systems.
- Perform complex analysis and use systematic approaches to implement projects.
- Act as a technical specialist to USAF and/or DoD officials.
- Ensure airworthiness of commercial derivative military aircraft for USAF and FAA.
- Produce desired results within the required timeframe with appropriate supervision.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Apply aerospace structural engineering concepts, principles, and practices to projects.
- Apply development testing and evaluation to provide technical advice and direction.
- Plan, design, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate aerospace vehicles, systems, equipment, and components.
- Understand other engineering disciplines and acquisition regulations.
- Devise and evaluate design approaches and assess new technology impact.
- Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- 5-12 years of knowledge in stress analysis, structural failure modes, aircraft structures, fleet management, and aerospace engineering.
- 0-5 years of airworthiness certification and design/analysis of structural repair concepts.
- Valid/clear driver's license.
Special Requirements:
Work assignment in Ogden, Utah. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and pass a government security investigation.
