Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Lead Engineer – Product Design Engineer in Claremore, OK. You will drive design and development of power converters, inverters, gate drivers, and control algorithms for Industrial VSDs in the energy sector.

The role requires deep power electronics expertise, strong collaboration across disciplines, and a focus on reliable, high-performance drive systems for demanding industrial applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical engineering.
• Experience in control designing: AC-DC and DC-AC conversion systems.

Responsibilities

• Define and validate power converter and inverter architectures and performance.
• Lead analytical and design activities using established power electronics methodologies.
• Develop gate driver designs for optimal performance and reliability.
• Create fault detection, protection, and signaling schemes.
• Support development of advanced power control algorithms for VSDs.
• Collaborate with teams to validate power section performance and manufacturability.
• Communicate technical strategies to senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to technical documentation, white papers, and design guidelines.
• Work with supply chain and commercialization teams for product lifecycle management.
• Drive innovation in power conversion technologies while ensuring quality and reliability.
