Job summary

Collinson Group in the Travel Experiences division seeks a Lead Engineer to guide one or more squads in designing, developing and delivering secure, scalable travel products.

You will act as the technical backbone, write code daily, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Product Managers to launch new services while embedding AI and modern engineering practices.

This role combines hands-on coding with architecture decisions and leadership responsibilities to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience leading one or more software squads.
• Strong coding and architectural skills.

• Deliver design, development, testing, integration and related engineering activities as required.
• Deliver specific tasks, deliverables and timelines as defined and prioritised progressively by the End Client during the engagement.
• Act as the technical backbone of the squad, leading from the front, writing code daily and setting the standard for high-quality engineering.
• Work side by side with an Engineering Manager, ensuring the squad is delivering scalable, well-architected software.
• Collaborate closely with a Product Manager to build and launch new products and services as a partnership.
• Work hands-on, with a strong focus on designing, coding and problem-solving.
• Act as the most experienced engineer in the squad, responsible for refining technical requirements, making key architectural decisions and mentoring engineers to help them grow.
• Embed AI, automation and best-in-class engineering practices into everything developed.

The Role

This SOW outlines the requirements for the Lead Engineer role, designed to lead one or multiple squads in our Travel Experiences division.
