Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline is a plus.
  • Technical proficiency in engineering software (ANSYS, NX) and programming languages (Python, Excel VBA).
  • Lean mindset with a focus on process improvement and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Design & Analysis: Execute mechanical design and analysis (stress, modal, lifing) for gas turbines, steam, generators, and accessory systems.
  • Technical Stewardship: Own mechanical hardware; perform validation testing; evaluate designs for thermal growth, variation, and assembly stack-up.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and sourcing teams to optimize subsystems.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead RCA to improve reliability, quality, and yield; apply Lean principles.
  • Project Delivery: Manage milestones through technical reviews; ensure NPI design practices are followed.
  • Mentorship: Coach team members and build relationships with Principal and Chief Engineers.
  • Compliance: Access to U.S. export-controlled information; eligibility required.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:



  • Design & Analysis: Execute mechanical design and analysis (stress, modal, lifing) for assigned components in gas turbines, steam, generators, and accessory systems.

  • Technical Stewardship: Take ownership of mechanical hardware; perform validation testing; and evaluate designs for factors like thermal growth, manufacturing variation, and assembly stack-up to ensure optimal product behavior.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering experts, manufacturing, and sourcing teams to optimize sub-systems and components.

  • Continuous Improvement: Lead root cause analyses (RCA) to improve reliability, quality, and yield. Apply Lean principles to streamline processes and drive innovation.

  • Project Delivery: Manage milestones through formal/informal technical reviews, ensuring compliance with NPI processes and design practices.

  • Mentorship: Foster a collaborative environment by coaching team members and building strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Principal and Chief Engineers.

What You’ll Bring - Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related STEM field from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant engineering experience.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $89,300.00 and $148,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
