Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced software engineer with extensive HP NonStop experience to analyze requirements, develop and modify applications, and ensure robust testing and documentation. The role may involve leading projects and coordinating teams while staying current with new technologies.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in development, strong communication skills, and familiarity with brokerage back/middle office domains and MQ messaging.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and problems and deliver quality technical solutions.
• Develop existing applications and contribute to new applications by analyzing and identifying areas for modification and improvement.
• Design and perform website/applications software tests and respond to user emails to monitor, diagnose, and correct performance issues.
• Monitor, identify, and correct complex software defects to maintain fully functioning applications software.
• Make recommendations for the development of new code or reuse of existing code.
• May lead assigned projects, including assigning tasks, coordinating efforts, and monitoring performance.
• Remains current with new technologies.
• Participate in software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
• Create and maintain technical and/or user documentation to a high standard.
• Clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups.

Requirements

• More than five (5) years of relevant development or engineering experience
• Experience in HP NonStop COBOL85, HPNS SQL/MX and SQL/MP
• Experience in Pathway servers and configuration
• Experience working on HP NonStop/Tandem Guardian OS application development
• Full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience
• Experience working in Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid software development methodologies
• Experience with brokerage and clearing business/industry is nice to have
• Experience with Middle Office and Back Office domains is a strong plus
• Experience with messaging platforms (e.g., MQ) is a plus
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
