Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of Industrial Control product knowledge with GE or similar.

Job Description Summary

GE Vernova, Gas Power Technical Compliance (GPTC) organization is responsible for Technical Regulations and Standards (TRS) review and application to Products and Projects. GPTC provides coverage in TRS expertise and applicability throughout the entire lifecycle of Power Generation equipment including New Product Introduction (NPI), Inquiry to Order (ITO), Order to Remittance (OTR) and Services. GPTC is seeking a Lead Engineer responsible for driving compliance with global codes & standards for Global GP Controls Platform Products, specifically for Nuclear Projects & NPIs. The Lead Engineer will effectively collaborate internally with several functions within Gas Power Engineering, including Controls Engineering, GE Vernova STG Controls Engineering & externally with customers, authorities, and authorized agencies in a multi-cultural & multi-functional environment to ensure technical compliance of products & services offered.

Job Description

Core Compliance Leadership

  • Lead technical compliance for SCS projects and NPIs, ensuring adherence to international (UL/CSA, IEC, CE) and nuclear-specific standards (NQA-1, NRC 1.180, etc.).
  • Conduct regulatory assessments, create compliance plans, and interpret complex codes to guide product design.
  • Act as the primary interface with external agencies and government bodies to secure necessary product certifications.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Field teams to implement common processes that minimize waste and resolve compliance issues.
  • Align product capabilities with customer RFQs and specific regulatory needs.

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain oversight of quality, schedule, and cost for assigned compliance scopes.
  • Manage compliance documentation and conduct manufacturing inspections/audits to ensure facility adherence to standards.

Safety & Continuous Improvement

  • Champion "Safety" per GEV policies.
  • Drive key initiatives, including Lean productivity, Product Cost Out (PCO), and PLM system adoption.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical or Computer Science) or science from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
  • 5+ years’ experience in engineering design (preferably in Nuclear Energy Industry).
  • Minimum of 2 years of working experience with IEC, EU Directives & Americas Codes & Standards (Haz areas, Electrical Safety, EMC, Machinery, Pressure Equipment, Building Code).
  • Minimum of 1 year of Industrial Control product knowledge with any of the following: GE Mark*, LS2100e, EX2100e, HMI/NW HW, Cyber Security Industrial Solutions and/or similar.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Opportunity is based in Longmont, CO; Relocation assistance is available for non-local candidates.
  • Travel for this role could be 10-15%

The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
