Job summary

Valmet in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Lead Engineer for the Energy & Recovery Engineering team. You will lead design activities, drive HSE-focused projects, and coordinate with global resources to deliver integrated solutions on-time and to customer requirements.

You’ll review drawings, mentor designers, and champion continuous improvement across processes. The role requires a mechanical engineering degree, 5+ years in design or stress engineering, and proficiency with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in design, layout or stress engineering.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and SolidWorks for production-level drawings.
• Experience in the Pulp & Power industry, specifically recovery and power boilers.
• Ability to lead projects and manage designers globally.
• Experience performing field measurements and supporting installation modifications.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support engineering activities with a strong focus on Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and equipment design
• Execute and oversee engineering projects to ensure compliance with customer and organizational requirements

Qualifications

• Strong experience in the Pulp & Power industry, specifically: Recovery boilers, Power boilers, Evaporator experience is a plus)

• Experience performing field measurements and supporting installation modifications
• Ability to troubleshoot and support customer needs at job sites
