Lead Engine Certification Engineer (Finance)

The Engines and Power Systems (E&PS) Certification Office has a need for a Lead Certification Engineer to lead engineering teams through the certification process and TSO approval process on multiple propulsion engine and APU programs.

The preferred candidate will be highly motivated with demonstrated initiative, aerospace gas turbine engine and power generation systems product knowledge, and deep knowledge of product development methodologies within a regulated environment.

The focus of this role is certification and regulatory compliance of gas turbine engines, power generation systems, and associated components which includes experience with interpreting FAA regulations and how they are applied to product testing. Interact closely with project engineers, design teams, and internal and external regulatory authorities to meet project deliverables and milestones. Act with speed and accuracy for on-time execution and apply six sigma thought processes and tools. Listen to internal customers' needs and support the team in reducing cycle time and improving the quality of deliverables.

  • Stay updated with industry trends and regulations related to engines and power systems certification
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the team
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics

  • Possess an understanding of SAE ARP 4754 requirements and best practices
  • Working knowledge of IBM Rational DOORS
  • Experience in certification of gas turbine engines and components

  • Effectively conduct design reviews and complete action items in a timely manner
  • Strong organizational skills to help keep track of multiple tasks and priorities
  • Proficient technical report development and presentation skills
  • Effective interpersonal and team skills to resolve problems
  • Mindset to improve processes and reduce cycle time
