Job summary

Lightshift Energy is seeking a Project Development Manager to support the team in deploying utility-scale energy storage projects. The role focuses on boots-on-the-ground development with coordination across disciplines to grow a robust project pipeline.

The position requires leadership, strong communication, and 2+ years in energy project development, with travel part of the role. Arlington-based HQ with potential remote overlap.

Qualifications

• Experience identifying viable project sites and land lead acquisitions.
• Experience with pre-NTP development workstreams leading to approvals with authorities.
• Excellent project management, planning, organizing, prioritizing tasks.
• Strong leadership and communication to manage workstreams and stakeholders.
• Direct experience identifying energy storage market opportunities and develop sites.
• At least 2 years of direct project development in energy sector.
• Willingness to travel ~25–50% of the time.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant field desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead land acquisition efforts and siting campaigns to grow the pipeline.
• Guide projects through development lifecycle from inception to Notice to Proceed.
• Create project management plans for internal use.
• Manage permitting challenges at federal, state, and local levels.
• Ensure interconnection rights are secured and advanced.
• Collaborate with engineers on project scope and site design.
• Provide research and due diligence on regulators and stakeholders.
• Support battery supply and EPC partners from design to contracts.
