Job Description
WSP is seeking a Project Manager - Energy for our Charlotte, NC office, with consideration for Asheville and Greensboro, NC. The role involves managing multidisciplinary projects in the energy sector, including transmission, renewables, hydropower, electrification, and industrial projects. The candidate will oversee project phases from design to implementation, develop client relationships, and ensure project success within budget and schedule.

Your Impact

  • Manage energy and power projects including transmission, substations, renewables, hydropower, and industrial projects.
  • Support project planning, design, construction, and delivery.
  • Lead project teams and manage project lifecycle from proposal to closeout.
  • Handle project budgets, schedules, risks, and stakeholder communication.
  • Support client relationships and marketing efforts.
  • Travel regionally as needed.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and company policies.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management or related field
  • 7-10 years of experience in project management within the electric utility industry
  • Proficiency in MS Office and project management software (MS Project, Primavera P6, SharePoint)
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
  • Knowledge of construction inspection, codes, and regulations
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. or ability to obtain it
Preferred Qualifications
  • PE license and/or PMP certification
  • Master’s Degree in related discipline
