Job summary

The candidate will work Monday to Friday, 1100-1930, with call shifts as assigned, and must stand for extended periods while handling intricate equipment. Prior GI experience is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years GI and Interventional GI procedure experience preferred.
• Follows GI Lab policies and procedures after orientation.
• Ability to read documents in Standard English.
• Interprets operation manuals for disinfection and cleaning agents.
• Clear and precise spoken communication across the organization.
• Writing skills for logging and reporting.
• Ability to work with others and independently.
• Ability to adapt to workload changes.
• Manual dexterity to handle intricate equipment.
• Ability to stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with endoscope and equipment decontamination/reprocessing.
• Serve as departmental expert in endoscope and equipment reprocessing.
• Prepare and calibrate equipment and procedure rooms prior to procedures.
• Assist with specimen collection in the GI Lab and during procedures.
• Perform inventory control and patient billing.
• Test and document endoscope processing and repair.
• Assist during routine GI procedures and complex interventional procedures.
• Collect tissue and fluids during diagnostic procedures.
• Label, log, and deliver specimens to the appropriate station.
