Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Connecticut seeks a Lead Emergency Room Tech to provide direct patient care in the ED and assist physicians and licensed nurses. This full-time, day-shift role emphasizes leadership in supplies, equipment care, and staff education.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; CT licensed EMT preferred, will consider Medical Assistant and CT Certified Nursing Assistant with experience.
• 1 year of Acute Care ED experience.
• AHA BLS CPR Certification.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English; perform basic math.
• Able to pass drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Assumes a lead role with the nurse manager to organize and order supplies.
• Oversees repair and maintenance of equipment.
• Educates and develops ED Tech staff.
• Reports to ED leadership group monthly on operations and concerns.
• Performs other duties as required.

Position Purpose

At Saint Francis Hospital the Lead Emergency Room Tech provides direct patient care in the Emergency Room and functions as an assistant to medical providers and licensed nurses.

What You Will Do

• Assumes a lead role by working with the nurse manager in organizing and ordering supplies.
• Assumes a lead role in overseeing the repair and maintenance of equipment.
• Assumes a key role in the education and professional development of new and existing ED Techs.
• Reports to ED leadership group on a monthly basis regarding the above, as well as any other issues and concerns among technicians.
• Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Current CT licensed EMT preferred, will consider Medical Assistant and CT Certified Nursing Assistant with experience.
• Experience: Minimum of one (1) years of Acute Care experience in ED. Experience with phlebotomy preferred.
• Certification: Must have current AHA BLS CPR CertificationEducation: High school diploma required
• Ability to read, write, and speak English, and perform simple math calculations required
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check
