Job summary

Stryker in Grand Rapids, MI seeks a Staff Embedded Software Engineer to lead design, development and documentation of embedded software for medical devices. You will ensure compliance with FDA guidance and internal SDLC processes while delivering reliable software solutions.

Collaborate with R&D, Systems Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs and Advanced Operations to support product development and manufacturing fixtures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science or related discipline.
• 4+ years of professional work experience.
• Experience in C/C++ software development for embedded systems.
• Hands-on Python development, including scripting and automation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded software and documentation for medical devices following SDLC and FDA guidance.
• Collaborate with R&D, Systems Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs, and Advanced Operations.
• Support legacy products with root-cause investigation and defect resolution.
• Plan and execute software verification and validation activities.
• Conduct advanced problem solving and evaluate solutions against requirements.
• Collaborate with operations and suppliers to review manufacturing fixture software and ensure quality.
