Job description

Our company develops products and services for the electric vehicle space. Founded in early 2022, Project Re:Car spent its formative months establishing a leadership team and the product definition.

Who we are looking for

The Lead System Software Engineer will lead the vehicle systems and software execution meeting the expectation of systems and software development plans and execution for the company. This position will be responsible for working cross functionally to ensure the systems and verifications milestones for the program are met in a timely fashion.

What you get to do

In this position the candidate will develop vehicle systems and subsystem requirements for all high voltage components such as battery management and propulsion systems.

  • Defining, documenting and maintaining ECU systems and subsystem requirements in a requirements management tool for multiple high voltage components.
  • Review specifications provided by supplier and provide guidance to the internal vehicle verification and validation team on the authoring and execution of targeted test cases.
  • Review, ensure and maintain requirements traceability using a proven methodology, such as SySML.
  • Review, ensure and maintain verification plans in collaboration with various teams.
  • Review, ensure and maintain validation results and its traceability using a proven methodology such as SySML.
  • Support various teams with system level functional safety analysis.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to define and improve system work products, processes, and quality criteria, and allowing for improved development capabilities and product quality.
  • Actively engage with software groups, DREs, validation and integration, and product development teams throughout the product life cycle, ensuring seamless integration of system engineering work products.
  • Defining and documenting high voltage system architecture, including key functional blocks, inputs, outputs, and interfaces.
  • Defining, ensuring and maintaining an ECU based traceability matrix, ECU controller requirements to associated verification activities and results, and actively participating in verification activities

What you bring to the team

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in automotive Systems engineering and embedded systems
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in systems development product lifecycle including verification and validation activities.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with DFMEA, trade off analysis, HARA analysis, requirements management, and traceability for high voltage or propulsion systems.
  • Minimum 2 years of Experience with model-based systems engineering, Universal Modeling Language (UML), and/or Systems Modeling Language (SysML)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of science degree in engineering in Electrical and/or Computer engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science.
  • Experience in Automotive CAN based Architecture.
  • Experience in MBSE tool systems and requirements management
  • Experience in debugging software using debuggers, instrumentation tools such as ETAS-INCA, CANape or CANoe/CANalyzer.
