Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks an Embedded Software Engineer - Lead to drive full lifecycle development of safety-critical embedded systems. You will pair with cross-functional teams to architect, design, implement, integrate, and test complex software for real-time environments.

The role requires hands-on experience with C++ and Ada95, embedded architectures, and DO-178 safety certification processes, plus strong DevOps and requirements-management tool experience.

Qualifications

• Experience with software engineering across the full lifecycle: architecture, design, integration, and test.
• Proficiency in C++ and Ada95 for embedded software development.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools.
• Experience using requirements management tools like JAMA and Polarion.
• Embedded programming experience and processor/board architecture knowledge.
• Understanding DO-178 safety-critical certification processes.
• Strong coordination with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to rapidly learn new languages and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Participate on cross-disciplinary integrated product teams using agile techniques.
• Manage full lifecycle of product development from architecture through testing.
• Work across software development lifecycle phases.
• Coordinate with team members, project managers, systems engineers, and product managers.
• Learn and implement process improvements continuously.
• Adapt quickly to new languages and technologies.
