Job summary

Innoflight in San Diego is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead embedded software and cryptographic engineers for satellite avionics and payload data systems. This role blends technical leadership with people management to shape secure, rugged software across multi-core and FPGA platforms.

The position requires a strong background in C/C++/Rust, RTOS, and cryptographic integration, with active U.S. security clearance and a track record of delivering mission-critical software.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of embedded software engineering experience, preferably in aerospace/defense.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor embedded software and cryptographic engineers, fostering growth and performance.
• Establish standards and processes for design, development, testing, and configuration management of embedded software.
• Advise on secure software architecture for multi-core and FPGA-based systems.
• Oversee software requirements, architecture, integration, verification, and release for embedded Linux/RTOS products.
• Collaborate with Systems, Hardware, FPGA, Test, RF, Mechanical, and PCB teams to deliver high-performance aerospace products.
• Ensure networking, cryptographic, and communications software meet performance, reliability and security standards.
• Drive process improvements, automation, testing methodologies, and team workflows.
