Job summary

Salt Digital Recruitment is seeking an embedded systems security engineer for a client in San Francisco. The ideal candidate has proven experience designing secure workflows and implementing cybersecurity best practices in embedded environments, with strong networking knowledge and hands-on C/C++ development.

You will work with RTOS, synchronization primitives, and Linux-based systems, collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver secure, robust embedded solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience designing secure workflows and implementing cybersecurity best practices in embedded systems.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and communication protocols.
• Extensive hands‑on experience with C/C++ development in embedded environments.
• Deep knowledge of Real‑Time Operating Systems (RTOS), including synchronization primitives such as mutexes, semaphores, and task scheduling.
• Solid experience working with Embedded Linux and Linux‑based operating systems.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of secure cloud‑to‑device communications and integration.
• Experience modernizing or transitioning legacy embedded systems to next‑generation software architectures.
