GE Vernova is seeking an experienced embedded firmware engineer to design, develop, and validate firmware for wind turbine pitch systems. You will work on control boards, motor drives, and backup charging interfaces, ensuring high reliability and integration across the platform.
The role requires strong C/C++ skills, motor control design, electrical/system knowledge, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science.
- 6 years of firmware development experience with C/C++, PLCs, and embedded/industrial networking.
- Strong electrical design background including schematics, PCBA layout, and component specs.
- Experience with motor control, power electronics, and thermal considerations.
- Automation, test-driven development, and engineering test frameworks (GitHub, MATLAB, Python).
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and develop embedded firmware for wind turbine pitch control system.
- Implement robust control solutions for motors and embedded interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C).
- Write, compile, test, and debug firmware through full product lifecycle.
- Develop simulation models to validate system behavior before hardware deployment.
- Lead or support validation testing of software and hardware.
- Review requirements and provide recommendations to improve quality and processes.
- Collaborate across GE Vernova teams for reliable wind turbine systems.
- Mentor junior engineers and support capability growth.
