Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Electronics Process Engineering Manager in Huntsville, AL to guide the PCBA and conformal coating processes, drive continuous improvement, and mentor junior engineers. This role supports defense manufacturing programs with a strong focus on quality and efficiency.

The candidate will lead a manufacturing engineering team, ensure delivery schedules, and collaborate with quality, production control, and design teams to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

• BS degree with 12-15 years of experience (or MS with 10-13 years).
• Secret Clearance eligibility required.
• Experience in PCBA manufacturing and process development.
• Strong DFM background to optimize production efficiency.
• Residence in Huntsville, AL or willing to relocate to Huntsville, AL area.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the manufacturing engineering team supporting PCBA assembly and conformal coating processes.
• Drive continuous improvement projects to increase yield, throughput, and quality across the production line and related equipment.
• Monitor KPIs (yield, first-pass yield, cycle time, scrap, escapes) to predict trends and drive proactive changes.
• Perform DFM/DFA reviews on new products and design changes and provide feedback to design engineering.
• Develop and implement new manufacturing processes, work instructions, and process control plans.
• Identify, specify, and justify capital equipment for PCBA assembly and conformal coating.
