Job summary

Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, ME, seeks an Electronics Mechanic Supervisor I to lead the Electronics Shop in the Production Resources Department. This temporary promotion may become permanent without further competition. The role requires supervising a team, coordinating shifts, and ensuring proper use of tools and safety PPE.

Location is on-site with occasional travel. Salary is $50.46–$58.87 per hour (WS-11). Telework is not eligible, and a Secret clearance is required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Installing, repairing, modifying, troubleshooting, testing, and maintaining electronic and navigation equipment.
• Planning, coordinating, and directing a variety of related electronics mechanic work operations.
• Resolving routine work problems, material shortages, trade interferences, equipment problems, and other conditions that could delay production.
• Training and instructing employees in proper work methods, use of tools and equipment, safe work practices, and applicable procedures.
• Interpreting blueprints, sketches, specifications, technical instructions, and job orders.
