Job summary

CesiumAstro in Austin, TX, seeks a Lab Manager to lead our electronics lab and advance space-grade test and integration activities. You will oversee circuit board assembly, rework, integration, and test, while growing the engineering lab facilities and ensuring quality processes.

This hands-on leadership role requires deep lab experience, strong communication, and the ability to mentor technicians as we develop high-reliability space and defense products.

Qualifications

• 9 years of electronics lab technician experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong SMT assembly and rework with fine-pitched components (0402, LGA, BGA).
• Experience designing and building wire harnesses.
• Experience managing engineering labs, calibration, procurement and consumables.
• Excellent written and spoken communication.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, rework, and test complex circuit boards in an engineering lab environment.
• Integrate and test boxes made up of different power, RF and digital boards.
• Perform special rework to solve technical problems with advanced skills.
• Design, build, and test harnesses for space and defense systems.
• Manage the engineering lab, maintain processes, calibration, and consumables.
• Mentor junior technicians and engineers; collaborate with team.
