Job Overview
- Repair various kinds of electro-mechanical equipment – including but not limited to AC/DC Motors, Pumps and Gearboxes
- Read job cards to determine job status, work authorization/limitations, estimates, description of problems and expected service ability
- Test electro-mechanical equipment to troubleshoot known or suspected problems using various methods and special testing equipment
- Disassemble electro-mechanical equipment noting parts identification, configuration and condition
- Clean electro-mechanical equipment assemblies as needed using various methods and steps, including but not limited to parts washers/steamers
- Correctly requisition needed items from purchasing department
- Replace or repair worn or defective mechanical or electro-mechanical assemblies - including but not limited to bearings, brushes, brush holders, motor leads, gears, seals, impellers, mechanic switches, brakes and clutches
- Retest reassembled electro-mechanical equipment for proper output and operations. Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis
- Operate specialized repair and testing equipment and other equipment as needed
- Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear
- Lift, tighten, adjust and secure heavy objects in order to perform work duties
- Must be dependable and prompt
Qualifications
- Must have 2-5 years of Electrical Mechanical Experience or Applied Education
- Winding Experience a Plus
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
- In-depth mechanical knowledge
- Proficiency in using an ohmmeter
- Ability to diagnose and repair various mechanical systems
- Experience with electrical components and systems
- Familiarity with safety protocols in repair environments
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
