Job description

Apex is currently looking for our next top-level service tech to join our team!

Job Overview
  1. Repair various kinds of electro-mechanical equipment – including but not limited to AC/DC Motors, Pumps and Gearboxes
  2. Read job cards to determine job status, work authorization/limitations, estimates, description of problems and expected service ability
  3. Test electro-mechanical equipment to troubleshoot known or suspected problems using various methods and special testing equipment
  4. Disassemble electro-mechanical equipment noting parts identification, configuration and condition
  5. Clean electro-mechanical equipment assemblies as needed using various methods and steps, including but not limited to parts washers/steamers
  6. Correctly requisition needed items from purchasing department
  7. Replace or repair worn or defective mechanical or electro-mechanical assemblies - including but not limited to bearings, brushes, brush holders, motor leads, gears, seals, impellers, mechanic switches, brakes and clutches
  8. Retest reassembled electro-mechanical equipment for proper output and operations. Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis
  9. Operate specialized repair and testing equipment and other equipment as needed
  10. Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear
  11. Lift, tighten, adjust and secure heavy objects in order to perform work duties
  12. Must be dependable and prompt
Qualifications
  1. Must have 2-5 years of Electrical Mechanical Experience or Applied Education
  2. Winding Experience a Plus
  3. Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
  4. In-depth mechanical knowledge
  5. Proficiency in using an ohmmeter
  6. Ability to diagnose and repair various mechanical systems
  7. Experience with electrical components and systems
  8. Familiarity with safety protocols in repair environments
  9. Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
