Job summary

Northwood Space seeks a Test Engineer to lead integrated test development from concept through production in Torrance, CA. You will design hardware, wiring, and RF test fixtures, and develop modular test automation in Linux using Python, C++, or Rust.

Applicants should have 4+ years of Electrical Engineering experience, proficiency with test equipment, and comfort with MIL-STD-810 methods. On-site role with a strong HW/SW integration focus and a competitive salary band.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in electrical engineering or related field.
• Strong programming abilities in Python, C++, and Rust; comfortable in Linux environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead integrated test development from concept through production, including test strategy, requirements, and execution plans.
• Design hardware, wiring, and electrical systems to support electrical and RF testing for production and development needs.
• Develop modular and reusable test automation software in Linux using Python, Rust, or C++.
• Own test maintainability and reliability across the lifecycle with calibration, upkeep, debugging, and continuous improvement of test assets.
• Create device and subsystem simulators for hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) and automated integration testing.
• Support environmental and qualification testing (thermal, vibration, shock) including instrumentation and procedures.
