Job summary

Anne Arundel County Public Schools seeks a skilled Maintenance Electrician II to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in district facilities. You will serve as lead worker of a small crew and handle emergencies and complex repairs.

The role requires a high school diploma, five years of electrical experience, and a Maryland Journeyperson Electrician license with a valid driver’s license. Strong reading of drawings and adherence to safety standards are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalency Certificate required; additional technical training preferred.
• Five (5) years progressive electrical experience required.
• Maryland Electrician Journeyperson license and valid Driver's License required; good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Acts as working leader supervising the work of less skilled tradesmen in electrical repair and maintenance.
• Lays out work for self and crew; assigns, instructs, and inspects helpers and trainees.
• Wires buildings and adds to existing wiring including motor control wiring and 227-480 switch gear work.
• Installs and repairs electrical switches and relays; fluorescent/lighting fixtures and connections.
• Assists in installation and repair of Fire and Security Alarms; designs layouts and time estimates for in-house projects.
