Job Duties

1. Assist and guide: Provide on-the-job training to College electrical technicians, helping resolve technical and mechanical issues on campus electrical equipment. Indirectly supervise and mentor other electrical technicians, staying current with technological advances. Be onsite during power outages and new equipment start-ups.
2. Repair and maintain: Repair and update electrical equipment and controls, following safety procedures. Oversee preventive maintenance on various electrical systems, ensuring compliance with schedules and safety standards.
3. Contract management and troubleshooting: Recommend equipment for external maintenance, monitor electrical contracts, and ensure work quality. Use computer systems to coordinate with contractors and troubleshoot issues. Serve as the electrical expert for all maintenance and repair activities, adhering to safety and OSHA regulations.

Required Qualifications

Applicants should have a two-year technical degree and at least ten years of professional experience in electrical construction, troubleshooting, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair. Extensive knowledge of electrical practices and safety regulations is essential. A valid SC driver’s license is required. Candidates with equivalent experience or education are encouraged to apply.
