Job summary
A leading engineering firm in Alabama is seeking a Lead Designer for electrical and instrumentation projects. This role requires overseeing a team of designers and ensuring delivery of engineering services on time and with quality. Ideal candidates will have a degree in Engineering Technology, at least 5 years of experience in relevant drafting and design, and familiarity with the National Electrical Code. Qualifications
- 5 or more years of relevant industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation drafting and design.
- Ability to determine load center unit substation loading.
- Familiarity with specifications and installation details of construction bulk materials.
Responsibilities
- Identify and communicate project scope, specifications, and design criteria.
- Produce Electrical & Instrument bid/construction packages and drawings.
- Provide on-site assistance to Commissioning/Start-Up team for projects.
Skills
Familiarity with NEC
Ability to perform lighting level calculations
Familiarity with 15kV power systems
Proficient in AutoCAD
Communication skills
Education
Associate degree in Engineering Technology or Computer-Aided Drafting
