Job summary

Sierra Space seeks a Senior Designer Engineer to lead the design, development, and evaluation of highly complex electrical components and systems (Harness 3D). This role requires guiding projects, mentoring engineers, and acting as the technical lead on specialized initiatives.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, perform tests and simulations, document findings, and stay current with aerospace electrical engineering advances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
• Typically 8+ years of related experience
• Specialized expertise in power/control EWIS/CD&H
• In-depth knowledge of industry standards and avionic systems architectures
• Ability to mentor and lead engineers
• Ability to work with minimal supervision on large engineering teams

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of highly complex electrical components and systems
• Mentor less experienced engineers and technicians
• Act as technical lead for specialized projects
• Conduct tests and simulations to validate performance
• Document design processes, test results and modifications
• Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for electrical systems
