Job summary

Radiant Systems Inc. is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer for a Major Medical Device Client in Portage, MI.

You will lead electrical subsystem development for a next generation surgical robotic platform, handling PCBA design, system integration, testing and troubleshooting from concept through commercialization. You will collaborate with Software, Systems, Mechanical, Quality, Manufacturing and Regulatory teams to deliver reliable electrical solutions, with a hands-on emphasis on PCB design

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • Five or more years of professional electrical engineering experience is required.
  • Advanced PCBA design experience and board bring-up are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the electrical design and development of a major robotic subsystem.
  • Translate product and system needs into electrical requirements and designs.
  • Develop complex PCBAs, including schematic design and component selection.
  • Perform PCB layout reviews, bring-up, testing, and debugging using Altium.
  • Integrate electrical hardware with embedded software, mechanics, and the robotic system.
  • Lead tradeoff decisions on performance, safety, reliability, cost and manufacturability.
  • Develop verification and EMC test strategies and support external testing.
  • Support design documentation, risk management, and product commercialization.
