Job summary

Carestream seeks an experienced Electrical Hardware Engineer to own end-to-end development of electrical subsystems for digital radiographic equipment and mobile medical platforms. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• 7+ years hands-on electrical engineering experience as technical lead for electrical systems on multiple products.
• Strong power electronics experience including high voltage design, power generation/distribution, grounding, protection, and safety.
• End-to-end subsystem ownership from schematic capture to production release.
• Prototype experience with fabrication and test fixtures for feasibility evaluations.
• DFM/productization and electro-mechanical integration with contract manufacturers.
• Troubleshooting skills using lab equipment and isolating board-level issues.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose a broad range of electrical issues in released products and development hardware; perform root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Own electrical subsystems through development cycle from requirements, schematic capture, PCB design/layout oversight, cabling/harnessing, component selection, documentation with QA V&V and production release support.
• Design and guide high speed PCB layouts in Altium; drive stack-up, impedance control, SI/PI, and EMI/EMC best practices.
• Design harnesses (wire and flex) including connector selection, wire gauge/safety, strain relief, and documentation.
• Develop power electronics architectures suitable for mobile and medical environments (high voltage, grounding, safety).
• Prototype and integrate designs at system level; support bring up, test fixtures, verification/validation.
• Collaborate with suppliers on fabrication, test, DFM/DFT feedback, first articles, and obsolescence mitigation.
• Generate design documentation ensuring traceability and compliance.
• Contribute to system architecture and IP development as appropriate.
