Job summary

Henderson Engineers, Inc. in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer - Business (Logistics) to guide complex electrical design from concept through completion on large-scale projects.

You will mentor teams, review drawings, and coordinate with clients to ensure quality and timely delivery. The role demands a strong background in electrical engineering, 9+ years of experience, and professional engineer credentials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field (electrical, mechanical, fire protection, or architectural).
• 9+ years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is strongly preferred (required for EOR’s).
• Additional technical certifications (e.g., RCDD, NICET, CPD, LEED, WELL) highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering design from concept through completion for complex or large-scale projects.
• Direct or oversee the preparation of design documents, system layouts, detailed drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Develop solutions to advanced and highly complex engineering problems, providing discipline-wide technical guidance.
• Serve as a mentor and coach across teams and practices, including supervising less experienced designers and engineers.
• Participate in or lead staffing recommendations, training initiatives, and technical strategy development.
• Provide quality oversight, including conducting and/or issuing final quality reviews to ensure compliance with standards and best practices.
• Communicate with clients, resolve conflicts, and provide leadership in responding to technical questions or design challenges.
• Lead or support strategic business development efforts and maintain key client and partner relationships.
• Serve as Engineer of Record when assigned, ensuring technical accuracy, accountability, and adherence to professional standards.
