Job summary

Apetan Consulting LLC in Mesa, AZ seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer to own end-to-end design of electrical systems for data center HVAC products, including controls panels, power distribution and wiring harnesses. You will deliver robust, energy-efficient solutions for high-stakes applications.

The role requires NEC/UL compliance, 3D modeling, CAD electrical tools, and cross-functional collaboration with mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years experience in electrical or controls panel design, testing and validation.
• Strong understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes, BOMs and documentation.
• Experience with 3D models and electrical wiring software such as Solidworks Electrical and Autocad Electrical.
• Working knowledge of NEC and UL/CSA standards.
• Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional technical projects.
• Willingness to travel up to 15%.
• Practical experience with industrial electrical panels and components (VFDs, contactors, power distribution).

Responsibilities

• Design and document electrical systems for data center HVAC products.
• Develop and maintain electrical 3D models, schematics, and BOMs.
• Design electrical and controls panels including heat run and leakage tests.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, controls, manufacturing and test teams.
• Apply NEC and UL/CSA standards to ensure safety and performance.
• Integrate electrical and control systems with mechanical subsystems.
• Support engineering, prototyping, verification and field evaluations.
