Job summary

Wiley|Wilson is seeking a highly experienced Professional Electrical Engineer to design and implement complex electrical systems for diverse clients, including government and universities. The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams, and oversight of junior engineers.

The ideal candidate has 6–10 years of electrical engineering experience, a ABET-accredited degree, and Virginia PE eligibility or reciprocity.

Qualifications

6–10 years of Electrical Engineering experience.
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from ABET-accredited program.
Virginia Professional Engineer or eligible by reciprocity within 3 months of start date.
Experience in building system design: power distribution, lighting and controls, grounding, UPS/ESS.
Familiarity with ETAP/SKM/AGI; knowledge of sustainable design practices.
US work eligibility and ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

Apply experience to solve complex electrical engineering problems and ensure compliance with codes and standards.
Collaborate with architecture and engineering disciplines, PMs, and contractors.
Lead project teams delivering engineering design packages for federal, state/local, commercial, and academic clients.
Provide oversight and mentoring to junior engineers and designers.
Support construction and commissioning activities, ensuring quality and clear communication with stakeholders.
Coordinate across offices to improve internal standards and perform load flow, short-circuit, and voltage drop analyses.
