Job summary

The Ed Wallach Search Group is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to drive electrical and electronic product development from concept to production. You will lead engineering initiatives, guide teams, and advance innovative outdoor recreation products for global enthusiasts.

You will shape product performance, reliability, and manufacturability while owning technical documentation, cost estimates, test plans, and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of electrical design engineering experience, preferably in consumer product development.
• Strong knowledge of electronic circuits, components, schematics, design and testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical and electronic design from concept through production, including prototyping, testing, validation and launch.
• Guide engineering teams, set priorities, manage timelines, and drive execution.
• Develop new product designs and improve existing products for performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
• Evaluate designs, troubleshoot issues, and verify compliance with specs and quality standards.
• Develop technical documentation, cost estimates, test plans, and project schedules while managing resources.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, operations, suppliers and stakeholders to ensure production readiness.
• Recommend design approaches, fabrication methods and supplier solutions to improve quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Product Development: Oversee electrical and electronic design from concept through production, including prototyping, testing, validation, and product launch.

• Drive Innovation: Develop new product designs and improve existing products for performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
• Ensure Engineering Quality: Evaluate designs, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and verify compliance with product specifications and quality standards.
• Manage Project Execution: Develop technical documentation, cost estimates, test plans, and project schedules while managing resources and milestones.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with manufacturing, operations, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to streamline product development and production readiness.
• Optimize Design and Manufacturing: Recommend design approaches, fabrication methods, and supplier solutions that improve product quality and production efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of electrical design engineering experience, preferably in consumer product development.
• Advanced knowledge of electronic circuits, components, schematics, design, and testing.
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams and manage complex projects from concept through production.
• Experience translating product concepts into manufacturable designs.
• Proficiency with electrical design, simulation, and analysis tools.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration abilities.
• Self‑directed, innovative, and comfortable taking ownership of projects with minimal supervision.
