Job summary

Austal USA seeks a CAD Supervisor to lead CAD Drafters and Designers I-III in developing 2D and 3D drawings for high-speed aluminum vessel projects. You will review and ensure drawing quality and coordinate with Production Management, design teams and suppliers to meet customer requirements.

The role requires extensive experience in shipyard design, proficiency with AutoCAD and ShipConstructor, and strong communication to respect strict schedules and milestones.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of 3D modeling experience.
• 10+ years of shipyard design or production/construction experience or equivalent.
• Experience with 2D and 3D AutoCAD.
• Experience in construction of high speed aluminum vessels.
• Experience with modular construction methods.
• Experience in design and construction of US Navy vessels.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of scheduling and ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Computer literate; proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Experience interfacing with multiple design teams and production members.
• Experience with ShipConstructor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for 2D and 3D drawing development.
• Checking drawings created by CAD Drafters and Designer I-III.
• Work with Production Management and cross-functional teams including customer representatives and equipment manufacturers.
• May lead CAD Drafters and Designer I-III; may set schedule of work.
