Job summary

H.F. Lenz Company in Middletown, CT is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead design of electrical building systems from utilities through construction administration. You will perform load calculations, site visits, surveys and commissioning for commercial facilities.

The role requires strong communication, ability to manage multiple projects, and collaboration with cross-functional teams; a PE license and ABET-accredited degree are preferred. Travel to project sites is required.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Experience leading electrical building systems design from utilities to construction administration.
• On-site electrical studies and field surveys experience.
• Consulting experience in MEP design is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.
• Able to work in a team with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects and design of electrical systems, including power, lighting, telecom, fire alarm and security.
• Perform load calculations, site visits, surveys/studies, reports and commissioning for electrical design of commercial facilities.
• Lead personnel and collaborate with team members to meet client expectations and contract responsibilities.
• Review NEC codes and client specifications; support QA processes.
• Coordinate with equipment vendors for selection and specification of equipment.
• Interface with clients and prospective clients for engineering and design consultations.
