Job summary

E-J Electric Installation Co. is seeking a Lead Electrical BIM Specialist in Wallingford, CT, to drive BIM coordination, model management, and shop drawing production on complex electrical projects.

You will be the central engineering lead coordinating design teams, field operations, prefabrication, and the general contractor to keep projects on schedule. Ideal candidates bring 5–7 years in electrical construction engineering or BIM coordination, proficiency in Revit and related tools, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is preferred.
• 5–7 years of experience in electrical construction engineering or BIM coordination; supervisory/lead experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, ACC/Forma, Navisworks or Revizto, and Smartsheets.
• Working knowledge of CPM scheduling, NEC code requirements, and shop drawing processes.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary engineering liaison between project stakeholders, including design teams, general contractors, field operations, and prefabrication teams.
• Lead project planning and execution by aligning teams with CPM schedules, maintaining production schedules, monitoring budgets, and enforcing project standards and procedures.
• Manage project communications, including RFIs, submittals, bulletins, site visits, issue tracking, and stakeholder coordination to ensure timely resolution of engineering challenges.
• Establish and maintain project BIM environments, including Revit model creation and management, ACC/Forma administration, model integration, and compliance with company standards.
• Act as the project BIM subject matter expert, supporting critical path planning, model coordination, and technology implementation.
• Lead coordination efforts by managing clash detection, QA/QC reviews, coordination schedules, reporting, and resource allocation across internal and external teams.
• Oversee shop drawing production, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, applicable codes, and engineering standards while maintaining drawing schedules and approval workflows.
• Coordinate model-to-fabrication workflows, ensuring seamless handoffs between coordination and shop drawing teams to support project execution and prefabrication activities.
• Maintain project reporting systems, Smartsheets, and documentation to provide visibility into project status, priorities, and deliverables.

Position Summary

The Lead Electrical BIM Specialist is the primary engineering leader on assigned projects, responsible for coordination, model management, shop drawing production, and overall project execution. Salary Range

$130k - $150k/year
