Job summary

Orbaerospace in Michigan is seeking an Electrical Engineer to architect and validate electrical systems for autonomous air platforms, integrating mechanical, aero, and software requirements. You will design PCBs, manage low SWaP constraints, power supplies, thermal management, EMI/EMF, sensor interfaces, and hardware testing, with hands-on MCU experience.

Candidates should hold a BS or MS in engineering and be ready for an in-person Fall 2026 start; base salary ranges from $90k to $130k plus

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical products and embedded microcontroller, including Interrupts, Timers, DMAs, and communication interfaces (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB, Ethernet).
  • Strong understanding of RF, EMI/EMF and Back EMF.
  • Lithium Battery Management Systems.
  • Speed controllers and Brushless DC Motors.
  • Sensor interfacing and Sensor fusion.
  • Wireless communication.
  • Proficiency reading electrical schematics and using test equipment to troubleshoot.
